DR. DAVID F. C. CHAN

My work experience is as varied as my academic qualifications. I have  a BA in Economics and History.  I obtained my M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland) and my Doctorate in Education (EdD) from the University of Durham (UK). My doctorate research was in the areas of Motivational Psychology and Learning. I have a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapy awarded by the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP, UK); a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills and a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy,  awarded by the Academy of Play and Child Psychology (APAC, UK). I have the Advanced TESOL Certificate and Diploma  (both awarded by the Global TESOL College and certified by the Govt. of Canada); a Certificate in Teaching Grammar (awarded by the London's Teachers' Training College) and an Instructor’s Certificate in Teaching Phonics & Phonetics. I have an International English Teacher License (issued by  the Global TESOL College International Licensing Committee). 

I am an Accredited Play Therapist (PTUK/PTI). I am also registered with the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP, UK) and Play Therapy UK (PTUK).I am a Member of the American Psychological Association (APA); Fellow  of the NCIP, UK; Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS); Chartered Information Systems Professional (CISP); Member of the Chartered Management Institute, UK; and Member of MENSA Singapore. I have worked (and taught) in Sembawang Shipyard Ltd.; the Ministry of Finance (Management Services Unit);  Ngee Ann Polytechnic; and was Associate Lecturer in  NUS  and UNISIM.
